Local Attractions

A 5 minute walk from Marlpit Lodge is Upper Sheringham Park, a woodland retreat for many walkers and bird enthusiasts. Renowned for its display of rhododendrons and azaleas the paths lead you down via gazebos and large ponds to Weybourne station and the North Norfolk Railway. Here you can go back in time and catch a steam train to either Holt or Sheringham.

Further afield are many popular tourist attractions such as Blickling and Felbrigg Halls, both National Trust Properties, Sandringham where H.M.The Queen spends Christmas and the towns of Salthouse and Cley, which are a must for those wishing to spot rare migrating birds.

For enthusiasts of military collections, the Muckleburgh Collection at Weybourne has many unique relics of past and more recent wars.

Eating out. As well as the restaurant in the village, there are numerous eating establishments in Holt, Sheringham and Cromer where your route takes you past a few hostelries several of which also do food. Whilst in Cromer why not take in a ‘show’ at one of the last end of pier theatres, see a film or just stroll along the promenade
